Apr 27: Club Med, a global leader in premium all inclusive holidays for over 75 years, has announced the signing of a Hotel Management Agreement with Central Group Capital for a new resort in Koh Samui.

This strategic partnership marks the introduction of a new Club Med Exclusive Collection Resort, the third in the East and South Asia and Pacific region. Designed for discerning travellers, the resort will bring Club Med’s signature spirit to one of Thailand’s most sought after island destinations. It will also be the brand’s first Exclusive Collection Resort in Thailand and its second property in the country, following Club Med Phuket, which opened in 1985.
Located just 25 minutes from Koh Samui Airport, the resort will offer a vibrant beachfront escape that reflects the essence of Thai island living. It will join Club Med’s global portfolio of more than 60 Premium and Exclusive Collection resorts across 25 countries. The Exclusive Collection portfolio today represents 13 percent of Club Med’s global capacity and includes 21 properties, ranging from resorts and dedicated spaces to villas, chalets, and the iconic Club Med 2.
The resort was officially unveiled at Club Med Kiroro Peak in the presence of Stéphane Maquaire, Rachael Harding, and Soravit Chairoj.
“This exceptional property on an exclusive beach in Koh Samui marks an exciting expansion of our portfolio,” said Stéphane Maquaire. “With upcoming openings and signings across destinations including Malaysia, South Africa, Indonesia, and Canada, this development further strengthens our leadership in premium experiential holidays. Beyond the guest experience, we remain committed to creating a positive and lasting impact by supporting local communities, developing talent, and contributing to sustainable tourism.”
Highlighting the brand’s evolving vision, Bruno Courbet added, “While Koh Samui continues to gain global attention, we see this as an opportunity to redefine luxury through our pioneering spirit. Our vision of new luxury brings together the intimacy of a boutique retreat with a human centric approach rooted in freedom and multicultural kindness. We aim to offer a seamless and thoughtful experience that allows guests to fully connect with the destination and with each other.”
Rachael Harding noted, “This development reinforces our commitment to delivering elevated holiday experiences in Thailand. With our strong international guest base and focus on family experiences, we are confident this resort will become a vibrant and welcoming beachfront destination.”
From the partner’s perspective, Soravit Chairoj said,
“Thailand continues to attract travellers from around the world, and Koh Samui remains one of its most desirable destinations. We are pleased to partner with Club Med to redevelop this property, making the most of its natural beauty and beachfront setting while introducing guests to the unique charm of the island.”
It has 303 rooms and will feature a contemporary island design inspired by local heritage and natural surroundings. Set along the northern coast, it will offer over 200 metres of private beachfront, along with a wide range of sports and leisure activities.
The redevelopment will include expanded room capacity, upgraded guest rooms and public spaces, new dining concepts, and signature Club Med experiences such as the Kids Club and Amazing Family programme, designed to bring families together through shared activities.
Club Med Exclusive Collection Koh Samui is expected to open in the second half of 2028. Booking details will be announced closer to launch.
