New Delhi, Nov 19: Nostalgia Colours presents Utsav’25–26, an annual exhibition that celebrates the poetic spirit of India’s modern masters, artists whose works transcend visual form to touch the very rhythm of emotion and thought.

Drawing from the creative kinship between poetry and painting, Utsav’25–26 honours fifteen stalwarts of Indian modernism- K. G. Subramanyan, Paritosh Sen, Suhas Roy, Sunil Das, Rabin Mondal, A. Ramachandran, Suman Roy, Arpana Caur, Ramananda Bandopadhyay, Lalu Prasad Shaw, Ganesh Haloi, Jogen Chowdhury, Thota Vaikuntam, Paresh Maity, and Ramesh Gorjala, each of whom has redefined the language of contemporary Indian art through their distinctive voice and vision.
This year’s edition of Utsav presents two parallel expressions of artistic genius:
Paintings that adorn the walls, monumental, contemplative, and commanding in presence.
Drawings and sketches displayed on tables, intimate, spontaneous, and revealing the artist’s innermost thoughts.
While the paintings represent the artist’s matured vision, rich, deliberate, and resonant, the drawings and sketches offer a glimpse into the creative impulse itself: the unguarded moment when inspiration first takes form. This duality creates a seamless continuum, from conception to culmination, from sketch to symphony, reflecting the full spectrum of artistic expression.
Through Utsav’25–26, Nostalgia Colours invites viewers to experience the harmony between visual and poetic imagination, to see rhythm in line, silence in colour, and truth in metaphor. It is a celebration not just of art, but of the timeless pursuit to transform the ordinary into the eternal.
The exhibition will be inaugurated in the gracious presence of Sri Anjani Kumar Singh, IAS, Director General, Bihar Museum, and Eminent Artist Arpana Caur.
