Runaya- Eckart JV marks the first phase of India’s first Gas-Atomized Aluminium Powder Plant in Jharsuguda

Chandigarh, Apr 14: Runaya Metsource, a Vedanta company providing advanced technological solutions for circular economy and critical metal recovery, achieved significant progress in developing green, spherical gas-atomized Aluminium Powder at Jharsuguda, Odisha with Eckart, a German-headquartered global leader in aluminium granules and effect pigments.

Martin Babilas, CEO of Altana AG, and Dr. Christian Przybyla, CEO of ECKART, visited the site along with Naivedya Agarwal, Managing Director of Runaya and other senior leaders.

Altana AG operates as a global specialty chemicals group, with Eckart as one of its most important divisions specializing in effect pigments and advanced material solutions. Together, they combine broad chemical innovation capabilities with deep technical expertise in applications, supporting industries ranging from automotive to cosmetics and packaging.

This also marked the first phase of the project, with operations expected by end of 2026 and already drawing strong interest from leading industry players.

The facility will produce high-quality aluminium powder, supporting a sustainable, integrated value chain while reducing imports and strengthening India’s advanced manufacturing sectors, like aerospace, aviation, solar, catalysts, and effect pigments.
