Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar Remembers Puneeth Rajkumar on His 5th Death Anniversary, Recalls Their Special Bond Through Yoga

Bengaluru, October 29, 2026: On the fifth death anniversary of legendary Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar, fondly remembered as Appu, Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar paid an emotional tribute to the late superstar, recalling their years of association, shared Yoga sessions and the friendship that developed beyond their training. Remembering the actor's simplicity and dedication, Akshar shared personal anecdotes that offered a glimpse into a side of Puneeth Rajkumar that went beyond his celebrated cinematic career.

Having trained together for several years before the pandemic, Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar recalled how Puneeth remained deeply committed to his Yoga practice despite his demanding shooting schedules and professional responsibilities. Their sessions included Yoga, Pranayama and meditation, with the actor displaying a genuine interest in understanding and improving his practice.

Recalling their association, Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar said, "Appu was a wonderful human being and a very sincere learner. Despite being one of the biggest stars in Karnataka, he was always humble, attentive and respectful during our training sessions. There were occasions when his shooting commitments prevented him from attending classes, but he would message me late at night, asking when he could come for the next session and how he could make up for what he had missed. His dedication towards Yoga was truly remarkable."

Akshar also remembered how their training sessions often involved discussions about adapting the practice to accommodate Puneeth's busy schedule. On days when physical training was difficult, they would focus more on Pranayama, meditation and other aspects of Yoga. Over time, their association evolved into a close friendship built on mutual respect and shared experiences.

"What made Appu truly special was the person he was beyond the screen. He carried no airs of stardom and treated everyone with warmth and respect. We shared many wonderful moments and conversations over the years. He was the pride of Karnataka and the pride of India. Even today, whenever I remember those days, his smile, enthusiasm and humility are what come to mind. Those memories will always remain close to my heart," Akshar added.

Puneeth Rajkumar, one of Kannada cinema's most celebrated actors, passed away on October 29, 2021, at the age of 46. Beyond his contributions to cinema, he was widely admired for his philanthropic initiatives, generosity and down-to-earth personality.
